JamisonParker

forever a sleepwalker

Jamison Parker was a bedroom-pop infused emorock band from Orange County, CA active roughly between 2003 and 2005. The duo--Jamison Covington (lead guitar, lead vocals) and Parker Case (drums, guitar, vocals)--only had two official releases during their short tenure as a band. Before signing with Interscope in the fall of 2003, JamisonParker had slowly built a loyal following through a series of "guerilla sets" (all-acoustic performances at merch booths and hotel rooms) at the 2003 Skate and Surf Festival in Ashbury, New Jersey.

Their debut ep entitled Notes & Photographs was recorded at Kingsize Sound Labs in Los Angeles, CA and was put out by Interscope Records on October 28, 2003. With the exception of "Your Song", the ep was written through mailed demo tapes between Covington in Kentucky and Case in California.

In 2005, their much anticipated debut album Sleepwalker (Interscope Records) was released. The full-length album portrayed a more refined, electrifying sound and gave insight into the depths of Covington's mind with lyrics touching on thoughts of suicide and his addiction to prescription drugs . While much of the album did exemplify the struggles of growing up, Sleepwalker is by no means hopeless emo album.

Though JamisonParker was short-lived, they left an enormous heart on my sleeve. Their infectious harmonies and heartfelt melodies are reminiscent of everything it felt to be a teenager.
